Description

Share the brilliance of Bill Nye The Science Guy with your students! This short video guide for S03E06 is a supplemental resource to help students learn about evolution.

Challenge students to explore the complex processes that drive the evolution of species, including natural selection, genetics, and the impact of human activities. Identify and define critical terms such as Evolution, DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid), Natural Selection, and Fossils. Participate in a hands-on experiment that simulates natural selection, demonstrating the role of environmental pressures and genetic variation in shaping the diversity of life. Examine the evidence provided by fossils in unraveling the history of life on Earth and discuss the implications of artificial selection and human impact on species evolution. Finally, challenge students to research and reflect on the rapid evolutionary changes caused by human intervention, fostering a deeper understanding of biodiversity and the interconnectedness of all living things.
